How the team generator works

Paste your roster with one name per line, choose whether to split by number of teams or by players per team, then hit Generate teams. The generator shuffles the roster and deals players out one at a time, so the teams come out as balanced as the numbers allow. If the roster does not divide evenly, the extra players are spread across the first few teams rather than piling onto one.

Fair teams for class, game night, and projects

Gym teachers use it to build teams fast without the awkward captains and picks routine. Game night hosts split a crowd into squads for trivia or party games. Managers group people for a workshop or a group project. Because the shuffle is random every time, a fresh click gives a brand new set of teams, which is handy when someone wants a rematch.

Balanced by design

The round robin deal keeps team sizes within one player of each other, so no team is left short handed. Split by players per team when you need fixed squad sizes, for example teams of three, and the tool works out how many teams that takes.
