Built for classrooms first

Making a fair choice should be fun, not a chore, and SpinPicker turns every decision into a tiny game show. But it is shaped around one audience in particular: teachers calling on students without picking favourites. That is where the features go, and it is where the privacy promise stops being a slogan and starts being the answer to a real question, because a class list is a list of other people’s names.

Nothing you type reaches a server. The wheel is JavaScript running on your own machine, and once the page has loaded, spinning makes no network request at all. Even a wheel you share travels inside the link, in the part after the # that browsers never transmit, so a shared class list exists only in the browsers that open it. Live streamers are the second audience: the wheel runs as a transparent OBS browser source that spins on the space bar, with no overlay service in between. And everyone else is welcome too. Families settle the dishes and dinner, game night hosts build teams, and offices run a fair standup order, all with the same tool.

Fair means something specific here. Every draw uses your browser’s cryptographic random source with rejection sampling so no slice ever gets a larger share, and we publish the chi-squared results across 16 million draws along with the code that produced them.
