When to spin the Random Color Wheel
A random color is a tiny creative constraint that gets things moving. Each of the 8 slices wins a spin 1 in 8, or 12.5%. That sounds rare, yet repeats arrive early: by spin 4 the chance that some entry has already come up twice passes 50%, the same maths as the birthday problem. Landing on every one of them, from Red to Teal, takes about 22 spins on average, which is why a no-repeat round is the quicker way to work through the whole list.
Tips for spinning it in front of a group
- With 8 slices of 45° each, even the longest label, "Orange", prints large enough to read from the back of a room. Press Present for a full-screen wheel: Space or Enter spins and Esc returns to the page.
- Tick Remove after pick and each winner leaves the wheel: 8 spins work through all 8 entries with none drawn twice, and Reset round puts Red and the rest back.
- To bring one up more often, add a weight to the end of its line, such as "Red *2": it then lands 22.2% of the time and every other slice 11.1%.
