About the Numbers 1 or 2 Wheel
This wheel comes pre filled and ready to spin. Give it a whirl as is, or edit the entries in the box to make it your own. Every slice has equal odds, so the result is fair each and every time. When the wheel stops, the pointer at the top marks the winning slice.

A one or two wheel is a coin flip wearing numbers, and that turns out to be exactly what some picks need. When two options are already numbered, option 1 and option 2 on a form, door number 1 or 2, player one or player two going first, spinning for the number is more direct than flipping heads and tails and then translating. Sports and games use it constantly: which team kicks off, which side of the board, which of two controllers. Both slices hold an exactly equal fifty percent chance, drawn from the same tested random source as every wheel here, so neither number is ever favoured. If your two options have names rather than numbers, type them straight into the entry box and the wheel becomes a picker for those instead. Prefer the classic ritual? The odds on this wheel
There are 2 slices, all the same size, so a given slice wins one spin with probability 1 ÷ 2 = 50.0%. Every spin is independent of the one before it, which means no result is ever due: after ten spins without a particular slice, the chance on the eleventh is still 50.0%.
Across several spins the maths follows the complement rule. The chance of a given slice coming up at least oncein ten spins is 1 − (1 − 1/2)10 = 99.9%. Edit the entry list and every figure here recomputes, because they are derived from the wheel rather than written down beside it.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 1 or 2 wheel the same as flipping a coin?
The odds are identical: two outcomes at exactly 50% each. The difference is the label. Use this wheel when your options are already numbered, and the coin flip tool when heads and tails read more naturally.
What is a 1 or 2 spinner useful for?
Any either-or pick with numbered options: which player goes first, which of two teams kicks off, door number 1 or 2, option A or B on a numbered list.
Can I replace the numbers with my two real options?
