50 slices: odds, streaks and repeats
A single number has a 2.0% chance per spin, 1 in 50, and a 18.3% chance of turning up at least once in 10 spins. Repeats still come sooner than intuition says: by spin 9 a repeated number is more likely than not, while landing on all 50 would take around 225 spins on average. No number is ever due; each spin starts fresh.
Tips for spinning it in front of a group
- At 7.2° per slice the labels shrink, so on a projector use Present: the wheel fills the screen and each number passing under the pointer, 1 through 50, is shown live in large type. Space or Enter spins and Esc returns to the page.
